02.28.2021 My first digital line-art is advancing

After I finally finished the color version of “The Falcon caught in the Storm” – the picture will go online next – I had some time to continue with my line drawing on the Wacom tablet. It is quite unusual that the drawing is not done under the pen tip. Fortunately, the small image size covers up my awkward lines a bit. At least I was able to revise the hull freehand after the red pencil drawing. To sketch the masts and sails in advance, I used the vector drawing tools from Affinity-Photo. I hope my pen stroke will be calmer when I can follow the (vector) paths.

Even though I’m slowly getting used to drawing with the classic graphics tablet, I’ll probably stick to the oldschool art pen and pencil for my work for a while.
