08-01-2026 Just before the weekend …

… here’s a brand new gallery image. I’ve adapted another ship’s mortar – this time from the 18th century. You can see how the weapon has evolved since its early days around 1680.

After this detour into weaponry, I’ve turned my attention back to the bomb ketch.

Landström drew it with rigging. The elements of the rigging are clearly visible in the printed book. So I’ll start trying to reconstruct the rigging as well. … But that might take a while again 😉

Stay tuned …

Compared to the ships, the guns are fairly simple objects. So this time, after finishing the line drawing, I decided to try out the profiling functions in Affinity Designer.

And as that worked quite well, I went straight on to the next step and coloured in the drawing.

I was so pleased with the result that you can now admire it in the new gallery.
